Hey beauties, let’s talk about protective styles. I don’t know about you, but after a long wash day, all I want to do is lock in the moisture with my favorite protective hairstyle.
What are protective styles?
Protective styles are hairstyles that protect the ends of your hair by minimizing shedding and breakage. Having 4c hair like mine, it would be impossible for me to do my hair every day. Putting my hair in a protective style endorses hair growth, saves time, and helps me go about my day without worrying about my hair.
Here are some of my favorite protective styles.
Hair Threading Protective Styles
This is my favorite protective hairstyle because it helps minimize damage, makes it easy for hair to retain length as it grows, and helps straighten hair without heat.
You can easily wear a hair wrap with this style.
Box Braids
Box braids are one of the most popular protective hairstyles. Most people love this style because it’s beautiful and stylish, and since there’s no heat involved your – hair won’t have any issues growing.
Two-Strand Twists
Whether you use your hair or extensions, two-strand twists are one of the fastest and easiest protective hairstyles. Like many, I love this style because it’s low maintenance, helps hold on to moisture, prevents breakage, and keeps natural hair tangle-free. Did I mention how beautiful your twist-out will look?
